Here's What Not To Miss Around Boston In August 2015

It's seem like just last week the last of the snow melted in Boston (OK, it was just last week) but never the less August is here and summer is going fast.

If you haven't been enjoying it, it time to kick things in to high gear and get out and do something fun. Here's my @bostonattitude picks for August. Because before you know it will be Allston Christmas and summer will be over. 


July 31 -  August 2 - Boston Comic Con with special guest co-creator of Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and the X-men Stan Lee . The event is  happening  for three days at the  Seaport World Trade Center. 

August 2 - The 4th Annual Boston Seafood Festival. Get you tickets for a full day of Seafood at Boston's historic Fish Pier. The event has everything from Food Trucks, Seafood Demos, Oyster Shuck Offs, and YES plenty fresh local seafood to enjoy. 

August 3 - FREE Hood Ice Cream Sandwiches - Hood is giving away 10,000 FREE Ice Cream Sandwiches for National Ice Cream Sandwich Day

August 8 -  PorchFEST at the Lawn on D - Get over to Boston's favorite outdoor space for a day of local music. PorchFEST is a national moved encouraging local musicians to perform on front porches one day per year. 

August 10 - The Brass Union Pairing Series with Aeronuat Brewing Co. Two of Somerville's best come together on the patio of Brass Union for a savory four-course dinner paired with local brews

August 28 - 30 - The 96th Annual Saint Anthony's Feast  - Better know as "the Feast of Feasts"  For three days in Boston's Historic North End enjoy music, games, and lots of food. Samples street foods from 100 pushcarts with sausage, peppers & onions, quahogs,calamari, pizza and of course zeppole, cannoli and gelato.  


The Swan Boat story dates back to the 1870's, they are one of many thing that make Boston a special place to visit. Everyone should take a little trip around the Boston Public Garden.

The Independent Hosts 2015 Battle of the Beers

Union Square hot spot The Indo and Smuttynose Brewing Company team up to celebrate craft beer and alternative music.

On August 18th The Indo will be the host of the 5th Annual "East Coast vs. West Coast Punk Rock Brew Tour" spearheaded by Smuttynose Brewing Company. This year the event is doubling up as the the 21st birthday party of Smuttynose Brewery.

On August 10, 2015 the Union Square hot spot Brass Union will team up with Somerville brewery Aeronaut Brewing Co. for a savory four-plus-course al fresco dinner. The special feast will take place on the newly renovate Brass Union patio. 

Below is the menu and brews pair by Executive Chef Jonathan Kopacz, the Aeronaut team and Brass Union’s Beverage Director Paulo Pereira.

Five Places For Awesome Margarita Around Boston!!

Last Month I received a reply to a tweet asking about Boston's best margarita , I DM'D my reply but, thought more of it and came up with a small list of some margarita hotspots around Boston. Thank you  Kobe @_N_A_R for your suggestion. 


Papagayo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar - Papagayo have been rocking the margarita scene in Boston since 2011. Lone Star Taco Bar - Allston's real tequila bar. This little spot in Allston is my go to for some good afternoon summer drinking. They have an ever growing tequila selection and some of the best kick ass margaritas to keep you coming back.

Brass Union - Somerville - will be rocking a special menu with a traditional a boiled dinner, corned beef sandwich or shredded corned beef and spuds (Irish cheese fries) 

Bukowskis Tavern - Cambridge will have a St. Patty Burger -  a seared corned beef patty with irish whiskey bacon , cabbage and Irish cheddar cheese.

Poe's Kitchen at the Rattle Snake - Will have a special jalapeno spikes corned beef taco - (flash fried cabbage, topped with Jameson potato salsa and parsley chimichurri.

Best Pint of Guinness - A lot of people have a personal favorite pint in Boston. For me it's between Mr. Dooley's and Solas,  I am also know to be at Cornwall's for one or two (see above).
