Brass Union Hosts Aeronaut Brewing Co. Dinner in the latest "Brass Pair"series

On August 10, 2015 the Union Square hot spot Brass Union will team up with Somerville brewery Aeronaut Brewing Co. for a savory four-plus-course al fresco dinner. The special feast will take place on the newly renovate Brass Union patio. 

Below is the menu and brews pair by Executive Chef Jonathan Kopacz, the Aeronaut team and Brass Union’s Beverage Director Paulo Pereira.

Last Month I received a reply to a tweet asking about Boston's best margarita , I DM'D my reply but, thought more of it and came up with a small list of some margarita hotspots around Boston. Thank you  Kobe @_N_A_R for your suggestion. 

Papagayo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar - Papagayo have been rocking the margarita scene in Boston since 2011. Lone Star Taco Bar - Allston's real tequila bar. This little spot in Allston is my go to for some good afternoon summer drinking. They have an ever growing tequila selection and some of the best kick ass margaritas to keep you coming back.

Well here we are, it's April and after the longest, coldest record breaking winter in Boston history, we have some warmer weather and the snow is just about all gone. Here's my events you can't afford to miss this April list.

 

April 5 - The Tasting room at SIP Wine Bar Easter Brunch pop-up featuring Chef Josh Lewin and Katrina Jazayeri’s of Bread & Salt Hospitality. 

April 11 - Verizon Destination Store ‘Grand Opening’ on Boston’s Boylston Street to Feature Appearances by Donnie Wahlberg and Jack & Jack!! I hope to see you at this event!!

McGreevys America's first sports bar and the home of the Dropkick Murphys  - This place is a St. Patricks Day go to.  

Brass Union - Somerville - will be rocking a special menu with a traditional a boiled dinner, corned beef sandwich or shredded corned beef and spuds (Irish cheese fries) 

Bukowskis Tavern - Cambridge will have a St. Patty Burger -  a seared corned beef patty with irish whiskey bacon , cabbage and Irish cheddar cheese.

Poe's Kitchen at the Rattle Snake - Will have a special jalapeno spikes corned beef taco - (flash fried cabbage, topped with Jameson potato salsa and parsley chimichurri.

Best Pint of Guinness - A lot of people have a personal favorite pint in Boston. For me it's between Mr. Dooley's and Solas,  I am also know to be at Cornwall's for one or two (see above).

What not to miss this March in Boston!!!

Well, you survived the snowiest February in Boston history, the longest run with under 40 degree temperatures and now your ready to get out and enjoy some better weather.

Let's face it, for the shortest month of the year February seemed very long.  It's time to get out and enjoy some spring activity, even if it still looks and feels like winter. 

March 1 - 13th - Dine Out Boston (Restaurant Week)  where participating restaurants, will be offering tasty prix fixe lunch or dinner menus from March 1st-6th and then from the 8th-13th

March 3  - IHOP National Pancake Day - FREE  Pancakes for a great cause the Children's Miracle  Network Hospitals  

March 4 - The South Street Diner 18th anniversary Lobster Festival, You get a three-course Lobster meal for $10.  This 24/7 hot spot in Boston never disappoints.  

March 6 - MFA First Fridays - Enjoy Music, Cocktails and Fine Art ,  this event is 21+ and happens the First Friday of every Month.

March 8 - 2:00am is daylight savings time begins (Spring ahead by setting your clocks ahead an hour) extra daylight is a reason to party however you choose.

So unless you just walked off a plane from Hawaii you know Boston has been having the winter season that just won't quit. Good news March is here and with that comes spring. Now I know it's not feeling like it yet. But it's time to get out of the house and go out to have some fun anyway. The good news is March 1st starts Dine Out Boston.

March 1st is the start of 'Dine Out Boston' where participating restaurants, will be offering tasty prix fixe lunch or dinner menus from March 1st-6th and then from the 8th-13th.  So get out and try someplace new or an old standby you haven't been to in a while.
