In honor of Belgium winning back their independence 186 years ago, City Tap House in Fort Point is gearing up to host a nationalistic celebration complete with a tap takeover of Belgian-style craft beers from Allagash Brewing Company (Portland, ME) and some of the finest snacking this European nation has to offer.

On July 21, the patio will be set to bring guests the best in distinguished yard games. In addition to pouring over a dozen brews from Allagash, the kitchen will dish out some traditional Belgian favorites with City Tap twists such as Ham, Gruyere & Endive Croquettes with fried parsley and Belgian mustard ($12); a Farmer's Board spread with fromage from the Belgian Trappist beer-and-cheese Chimay Abbey, boudin blanc sausage, apple compote, cornichons, bister mustard and rustic bread ($15); and, Moules Frites in a flavorful broth of Belgian ale, leeks, garlic and butter with fries and andalouse sauce ($16). For those who loves to eat breakfast anytime, there are Belgian Waffles with fresh fruit, Nutella and whipped cream ($10).

The featured beers from Allagash Brewing Company will be poured as follows, while supplies last:
Avance
Confluence
Curieux
Cuvee D’ Industrial
Fluxus
Ganache
Golden Brett
Hugh Malone
Interlude
Little Brett
Sixteen Counties
Triple

There is no denying Belgium's incredible influence in American craft, from its technical skill in production to the diversity and accessibility of Belgian's world-class ales. That's what Belgian National Day means to those in the States. For City Tap to host this glorious day with a partner like Allagash – whose inspired Belgian ales are unmatched in the U.S. – is the cherry on top!
