City Tap House Hosts a Luau with Avery Brewing Company
City Tap House is bringing a taste of Hawaii to Fort Point when they host an outdoor luau with Avery Brewing Company on April 15. As a way to christen their new patio, City Tap will transform its fire-pit lined space into a Polynesian paradise complete with a pig roast, the piped in sounds of twinkling guitars and ukuleles, games of cornhole, tiki cocktails and seasonal brews.
With its pop-up hideaway decked out in traditional luau décor, the flower shirts and hula skirts-clad City Tap team will be joined by Avery Brewing founder, Adam Avery, who will be on-hand with some seasonal pints like Liliko’i Kepolo which adds a tropical island flair to a spicy traditional witbier. In addition to roasting a whole pig on a spit resulting in the Plate o’ Pig special served with kabob skewers ($18), the kitchen also will dish out Kahlua Pork & Pineapple Tacos on flour tortillas with pineapple salsa, red cabbage and cilantro ($10) and Coconut & Pineapple Shrimp Skewers with sweet chili sauce ($12). On the liquid side, Polynesian specialties will be poured in tiki glassware including The Aviary with dark rum, Campari, black raspberry liqueur and pineapple juice ($13), Gose with the Flow with tequila melon liqueur, sour mix, Avery El Gose and shredded coconut ($13) and a savory Hawaiian Punch with Privateer and coconut rums, lemongrass, cherry liqueur, cranberry juice and pineapple Juice ($13).
