FIRST NIGHT
Since 1975, Boston’s First Night has been a New Year’s Eve celebration of artistic performances, the wonders of the season and the beginning of a new year.

In keeping with this fantastic Boston tradition, the First Night celebration in 2018 will continue to be free and open to all. Entertainment and special attractions will be focused in Copley Square and Back Bay. Many of the beloved traditions of First Night’s past will be retained, including the People’s Procession at 6:00 PM, fantastic ice sculptures, light displays and 7:00 PM Family Fireworks; in Boston Common, and our signature Copley Countdown pyrotechnics and light show in Copley Square at midnight. In addition, arts and musical performances will take place in numerous indoor venues around the Back Bay.

This year there will also be a first of its kind scavenger hunt! You can stroll Copley and Back Bay solving riddles, taking photos, and exploring all that First Night has to offer. Visit firstnightboston.org/scavengerhunt for more information.
