With March Madness almost upon us, City Tap House in Fort Point is gearing up to hold a competition of their own. On March 15 while the First Four are playing in Dayton, OH, City Tap has invited some favorite Massachusetts breweries to their house for a friendly “Kick the Keg” challenge. At 5 pm, four kegs from Portico Brewing Company (Waltham), Notch Brewing Company (Salem), Wormtown Brewery (Worcester) and Harpoon Brewery (Boston) will be tapped and it’ll be up to beer and basketball enthusiasts to determine their favorite by consumption. The brewery with the first kicked keg will be named the honorary March Madness specialty beer and have their pint featured for only $5 for the remainder of the tournament. A premier destination for college hoop viewing, City Tap features 11 HDTVs including three mammoth 80-inch screens that line the bar.
