The Pillow Men to (Dream) Rock Out at The Rockwell
As a prelude to Halloween weekend, The Rockwell will host The Pillow Men for a “theatrical dream rock show.” In this unique musical set, The Pillow Men play music that draws parallels to humankind’s relationship with dreams. This combination of abstract theatrics and musical plunges will lure the audience into a “night of sleep,” experiencing the fantastical dreaming world through songs that range from a variety of human emotions.
In an effort for those to fully realize their dreams, these musicians enact the role of Pillow Men, known as mythical beings that weave and influence dreams into the minds of all living things. While they appear with a permanent appearance of anger, disgust, apathy and remorse, they do so to mirror humanity in some of its most vulnerable states. Concert-goers are challenged to face these reflections and ultimately will leave enlightened to recognize dreams are a tool to help us realize the immortality of the soul.
