City Tap House, Fort Point’s newest neighborhood pub, is making a bold statement this Valentine’s Day weekend: “Cupid is Stupid – Swipe Left.” On February 11 and 12, this beer paradise will be a refuge for singles trying to escape the cloying, sticky-sweet sentiments of this Hallmark holiday by breaking it down to the basics: good beer, even better food. (Note: City Tap does not discriminate against lovebirds; their only requirement is that you and yours leave your diets at the door on these two nights.)
While couples elsewhere are busy popping bubbly, meeting in the middle over a strand of spaghetti and sharing bites from a chocolate fountain, City Tap House will be dishing out a collection of specials that a proper lady or gentlemen would not normally order on a first date. These rich, overly indulgent creations are sure to satisfy the stomachs of the happily unattached (and attached) and each comes with a suggested suds pairing that has been hand-selected by City Tap’s resident beer man, brand director Andy Farrell:
